The search for your next sporty SUV near Houston, Katy, and Memorial, Texas, may have led you here. You're ready to take the wheel of that next vehicle, but you're not sure whether the 2020 BMW X3 or the Acura RDX is right for you.

That's where the experienced team at BMW of West Houston comes in. Our sales experts are taking the time to compare these two SUVs, so you'll know what to expect from each. Continue reading to learn all about their performance, interior amenities, and more.

BMW X3 vs Acura RDX Performance Specs

With the entry-level BMW X3, you'll have access to a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. This engine is equipped for the road ahead and combines twin-scroll turbocharger technology with variable valve control and high-precision direct injection. This engine delivers 248 horsepower, the kind of power you demand, whether traveling on city streets or on the highway.

The Acura RDX, meanwhile, comes with a turbocharged 2.0 4-cylinder engine that makes 272 horsepower. While this does offer more horsepower than the BMW X3 in its entry-level setup, overall, you'll be able to get more horsepower out of the X3.

That's because there's a performance edition of this SUV: the X3 M40i that features a V6 engine and all-wheel drive capability. This engine delivers 382 horsepower, far surpassing what the Acura RDX is capable of.

X3 vs RDX Interior Amenities

Both vehicles welcome drivers with leather-like seats, with the BMW X3 carrying SensaTec upholstery and the RDX offering leatherette seats. These seats are soft, supportive, and welcoming. The power front seats can be adjusted to your liking, too, with both the X3 and the RDX offering over 10 different ways to set up the front seats.

A panoramic moonroof also comes standard in the X3 and the RDX. In the past, the moonroof may have only provided fresh air and sunshine to riders up front-unless you had a convertible. Now, with panoramic moonroofs becoming more popular, passengers in both the first and second rows will have access to the fresh air and sunshine.

That being said, not every day lends itself to opening up the roof and enjoying the fresh air and sun. It may be a bit too warm, so you'll want the air conditioning on. With the standard automatic 3-zone climate control in the X3, passengers in both the front and the back seats can personalize the settings to their liking. However, the Acura RDX only offers standard 2-zone climate control.

Both SUVs also come standard with smartphone capability. You can use your iPhone® in the X3 and the RDX just by plugging it into the USB port. With Apple CarPlay®, your favorite apps and features will appear right on the touchscreen in front of you. Now, there's no need to look down at your phone-you'll have everything you need right in front of you.
