Earlier this year, EyesOn Design honored the all-new BMW 5 Series for Best Designed User Experience at the 2017 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The EyesOn Design Awards, the officially-sanctioned design awards of NAIAS, honor the best production and concept vehicles making their world auto show debut in Detroit.

The seventh-generation 5 Series earned the award with its vast array of technological features , including iDrive 6.0 (the new BMW user interface) , improved voice control with natural voice input, BMW Gesture Control, remote 3D View and a next-generation heads-up display. The vehicle also features the latest in driver assistance systems, as well as Remote Control Parking.

In a release, Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO of BMW of North America, stated, “BMW has long been a pioneer in advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI) technologies and the new 5 Series brings together everything we have learned in our 100 year history. It is truly an honor to receive this prestigious award from EyesOnDesign for the Best Designed User Experience on the all-new BMW 5 Series.”

The BMW 5 Series will be available for purchase at dealers in the U.S. in February, 2017.
